How I work
“I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become” Carl Jung
I recognise that it takes a great deal of courage to enter into a therapeutic relationship. Confiding in someone, opening your heart and sharing what is troubling you.
As a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I work integratively using a variety of different therapeutic approaches, skills and techniques, drawing on whatever seems most helpful to you. I recognise that there is no one size fits all approach.
I believe that as an individual you are unique. I will listen empathically and intuitively as you describe the challenges that you face, using my experience to help you get to the heart of the problem. Then, together, we can explore the issue, working to identify triggers, unhealthy thinking and patterns that affect your wellbeing to empower you and enable you to move forward in your life. The relationship between therapist, me, and the client, you, is the most important feature of the work. Creating a comfortable working environment can enable healing and change.
